Indian cricketer Unmukt Chand has been roped in by tech giant HCL Infosystems on February 5, 2013, as their brand ambassador for its HCL ME range of tablets. Chand will now be endorsing the HCL Infosystems tablets and will also feature in the upcoming multimedia ad campaigns.
Gautam Advani, the global head for the company’s Mobility Business Unit said, “We’re delighted to have Unmukt Chand as our brand ambassador for our ME Tablet brand. Like Unmukt, the ME Tab brand is young, focussed and raring to go”. Chand earlier was the captain of the Indian Under-19 team , which won the Under-19 Cricket World Cup in 2012.
Apart from appointing its brand ambassador, the company has also launched three new tablets, U2, V1 and Y3, which have been priced between Rs, 5,999 and Rs. 11,999. HCL, with the help of the new tablet is targeting students as well as young professionals.
For now, the tablets are available only in selected cities and will be available across the country by the month of February 2013 onward. The company already has a portfolio of about five tablets in the Indian market and many of them are targeted towards the education segment. The tablets will be supported by an integrated back up service HCL Touch.
