The long awaited BlackBerry Z10 launch has been rescheduled and is now all set to hit shelves in India on February 25, 2013. A spokesperson from BlackBerry confirmed about the date, much to the delight of BlackBerry fans in India.
The price details of the device are still not known, but it is expected to be launched for under Rs. 40, 000. The new BlackBerry Z10 is a complete touchscreen smartphone which has a 4.2 inch screen at 356 pixels-per-inch.
The company has also announced that more than 70,000 apps are now accessible for BlackBerry 10 devices which includes Skype, WhatsApp, SAP, Angry Birds and Amazon Kindle. The interface is gesture-based and users can perform various functions by just swiping the keyboard, such as gaining access to punctuation and other characters.
The BlackBerry 10 phone has new features with a fast browser, smart cameras and unlike the earlier models, it has a large app library. The device is already available in the UK and Canada and has also received good reviews in these markets. The company is planning on launching a QWERTY smartphone based on the BlackBerry 10 known as the BlackBerry Q10 by the month of March 2013. The BlackBerry Z10 is expected to be priced at Rs. 39,000 so as to be competitive enough for the Indian market.
