Auto giant Volkswagen has launched a new version of its popular hatchback Polo for the Indian market. The Polo has been priced at Rs. 6.27 lakh ex-showroom price Delhi .
The new Polo SR has a 1.2 litre petrol engine with the 'Aero Sport' package. The features of the new hatchback include front under skirting, rear roof spoiler, side under skirting, chrome exhaust with rear under skirting and 15-inch alloy wheels.
Arvind Saxena, the Passenger Car Managing Director for Volkswagen, while commenting on the launch said, “The Polo is an important carline in the Indian portfolio and we would like to continuously keep it relevant and exciting for our customers.” The new hatchback will also have features like Bluetooth connectivity, USB Connectivity, climatronic AC, rear parking sensors, dual air bags, multifunction displays and more.
In the past couple of years the company has made good sales in the country. The new Polo was introduced on Valentine's Day in the Indian market. With the new model introduced, it is expected that sales of the company will receive a boost in the small car segment in India, which is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Ford. The smaller version of the Polo was launched last year and has also managed to mark a sizable number of sales.
