South Korean electronics giant Samsung confirmed that it will launch its new smartphone Galaxy S IV on March 14, 2013 in New York. The latest from Samsung in its popular S Series will be launched so as to provide some competition to Apple in the smartphone segment.
The new Galaxy S IV will be the latest entrant in the crucial US mobile market, presently dominated by Samsung itself, which is the top mobile phone seller. This will be the first US launch of Samsung for its flagship phone in three years.
Chenny Kum, the company spokesperson, said that the device will be launched in the US soon, even as she took some pot shots at Apple fans. JK Shin, who is chief of the mobile division of Samsung Electronics said, “We introduced the Galaxy S III in London last year, and this time we changed the venue (to New York)… as we were bombarded with requests from US mobile carriers to unveil the Galaxy S IV in the country”.
The new Galaxy S model might have the additional features of a higher resolution display and a better camera, as compared to its earlier version. Media reports have claimed that it will have a faster quad-core processor as well. The new Galaxy S was unveiled at the CTIA mobile trade show in the US in 2010.
