South Korean electronics giant LG has launched its much awaited Optimus G smartphone for the Indian market. The new smartphone runs on the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean platform with a 4.7-inch screen, featuring true HD and IPS along with 1280 x 768 resolution.

The device also features 13-mega-pixel camera with auto-focus . The new G smartphone has been powered by a Qualcomm quad-core processor clocking at 1.5 GHz and a 2 GB RAM, which has 32 GB built-in storage space. The only drawback is that the phone does not have a Micro SD card.

In order to make this product unique, LG has added a few video related features as well. With the new features, the G can be dimmed, by making use of a translucent layer, allowing the users to send text messages or write emails while watching a movie or any other video in the background.

The new features will also allow users to zoom in to a scene, while playing the video, using a two-finger pinch. However, now that the Optimus G is launched, there are chances that the Nexus 4 might also soon hit the Indian market. LG had announced the Optimus G in the month of January 2013, which sold around 1 million units within four months of its launch, in just four markets.
