Finnish mobile phone company Nokia said that it has opened pre-orders for its affordable Windows Phone 8 Lumia 620 for the Indian market. The online retailers are pre-bookings the smartphone for Rs. 15,199.
The company says that the smartphone will be available from the second week of March 2013. The device was unveiled in the month of December last year. Reports say that it is the cheapest smartphone to run on operative system Microsoft. The new Lumia 620 has a 3.8 inch TFT screen with the company’s ClearBlack Display Technology.
The device is powered by a dual-core, 1 GHz processor, coupled with 512 MB RAM and comes with 8 GB memory and a micro SD chip, which can be expanded up to 64 GB. The phone also offers 7 GB of free cloud storage in Microsoft’s SkyDrive. The phone has a 5 MP camera with LED flash on the back, along with a VGA unit, which is integrated in the front.
The device also has some connectivity features, including 2G, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth 3.0 and micro USB. The company has recently unveiled two other affordable WP8 smartphones at Mobile World Congress, namely the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520. The smartphones will also come to India during the second quarter of 2013.
