Auto giant Toyota Kirloskar Motors is now looking forward to increase its foothold in the Indian market and has launched the new version of the sedan Etios and hatchback Liva, with prices starting from Rs. 4.46 lakh. The company is these days looking forward to increase its export of the Etios range from India to Africa.
Hiroshi Nakagawa, the managing director and Chief Executive Officer of the company said, “Last year, we started exports of Etios to South Africa and we have so far shipped 20,000 units. We are looking at exporting the model to other countries neighboring South Africa. We have in fact started exporting to Zimbabwe and Mauritius”. Export is considered to be one of the focus points for Toyota and the company would like to further exploit this fact.
Toyota has launched new versions of the Etios starting at Rs. 5.45 lakh and Rs. 7.08 lakh for the petrol variant, as well as Rs. 6.70 lakh and Rs. 8.15 lakh for the diesel versions of the vehicle. Sandeep Singh, the Deputy Managing Director of the company said that there has been an increase in the prices of the two vehicles by 2.1 percent to 2.5 percent from the earlier version.
The Etios had been launched by Toyota in December 2010, after which the Etios Liva was launched in June 2011.
