Asia Bizz: Harkat-ul-Mujahideen Top Leader Killed Among Two In Sopore Encounter

In a fatal encounter with the security forces in Sopore, North Kashmir, a top militant leader of the Harkat-ul-Mujahideen, was killed among the two during the shoot out.

The incident occurred in Haigham, which is 50 kms away from Srinagar, and during the encounter one of the army jawans was killed.

The militant who was killed was recognized as Nouman, a Pakistani national, who is recognized as a self styled leader of the group. Nouman was an accused in the Lal Chowk attacks in Srinagar in the month of February this year.

The Indian security forces too has suffered a blow during the encounter. Indian Sepoy, Sanjay Kumar was killed in the encounter during the shoot out.
