South Korean electronics giant Samsung has launched a new range of Smart TVs in Bangalore, India on April 9, 2013. The company has launched a total of 22 new TV models in recent times. Mahesh Krishnan, the senior vice president of consumer electronics, Samsung India said that the new range of TV with interactive features enables the users to browse the internet.

The company has also said that the new TVs will come with around 750 Indian and global apps. Samsung also said that it will release a new evolution kit which is priced at Rs. 17,000, which will allow users to upgrade software and hardware features of selected models. Krishnan went on to say, “The kit will allow users to utilize better, the processing power of their TVs.” The updates will include access to 2013 Smart Hub and other features.

Atul Jain, the senior vice president of Consumer Electronics Samsung India, said that they are witnessing a good growth panel TV business in the country. With the latest launch, the smart TV is expected to double the business, according to Jain. He added that the adoption of Smart TV is growing in the country and the company is now a leading player in the panel TV business. The price of the smart TVs will begin from Rs. 37,900 to Rs 3.68 lakh.
