Honda auto has launched its new Amaze sedan for the Indian market. The company has released the petrol version of the sedan at Rs. 4.99 lakh and expects Rs. 5.99 lakh for the diesel variant, ex-showroom price New Delhi.
The new vehicle will mainly compete with other car models in the same spectrum like the Maruti Suzuki Dzire. Some of the other competitors of the Amaze include the Tata Manza, Toyota Etios and GM Sail. The Amaze has a 1200 cc petrol engine and the diesel variant has the all new 1500 cc engine. This is the first diesel vehicle which has been introduced by Honda in India.
In the future, the company intends to introduce more models in other categories, which also include a competitor for the small car Alto, by Maruti Suzuki. The diesel version of the Amaze has been priced between Rs. 5.99 lakh and Rs. 7. 60 lakh. The petrol variant will be available in the range of Rs. 4.99 lakh and Rs. 7.50 lakh.
The new Amaze has been designed keeping in mind the Indian road conditions and the requirements of subcontinental users. The new entry level sedan qualifies for excise duty benefit as well, which benefits small cars that are shorter than 4 meters, in the Indian market.
