Phone manufacturer Karbonn has launched its Smart A12 smartphone for the Indian market. The new A12 has been priced at Rs. 7,990 and is powered by a 1Ghz ARM Cortex processor, along with 512 MB of RAM.
The features of the device include a 4.5-inch capacitive screen with qHD display and 4GB of internal storage. This capacity can also be expanded by up to 32GB, with the help 0f a micro SD card. The smartphone also has a 5-megapixel rear camera, with a VGA front camera. The phone also comes with dual-SIM capabilities and a 1,800 mAh battery.
The A12 has the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system underneath, but no information has been given as to when the phone will get the 4.1 Jelly Bean update. The smartphone will come pre-installed with popular apps like GTalk, Facebook, YouTube, Google Plus Messenger, Kingsoft Office, Saavn Music and Gmail. Shashin Devsare, the Executive director of Karbonn Mobiles said, “With the launch of the Smart A12, we seek to establish our positioning into the emergent Android domain, and provide our users cutting-edge Android-based mobility solutions.”
The connectivity features of the phone include Wi-Fi, 3G, Bluetooth and GPS. For the price, this phone is a great entry in the sub-R 10,000 segment of handheld devices.
