Ahmedabad-based ice-cream giant Vadilal will be launching new high end of ice-creams in the summer of 2013, looking at the growing demand for ice creams in the country. The company is trying hard to expand its market share in the premium segment and will be launching new products for the third year in a row.

In the year 2011, Vadilal had launched the flingo, badabite and gourmet flavours; while in 2012 it had launched its ice trooper range for the kids segment. The premium products portfolio for Vadilal expected to generate revenues of Rs. 50 crores this year, even though its turnover was negligible a few years ago.

In 2013, the company will be launching its Artisan range of products, under which it will offer ice cream pastry, ice cream log, ice cream sandwich, ice cream bar, cookie pie sandwich and kewarra matka kulfi. Vadilal is also taking the advantage of the increasing demand for fruit-based products in the country.

The company, under its ‘Falala’ brand name, will be launching a new range of ice candies made from real fruit pulp in some exotic flavours like cranberry, mixed fruit and Kiwi. The high spending and the better educated youth in the country has been the main target of the company in the past few years.
