Auto manufacturer General Motors India launched its multipurpose vehicle ‘Enjoy’ for the Indian market on May 9, 2013. The company presented the vehicle at an introductory price between Rs. 5.49 lakh and Rs. 7.99 lakh ex-showroom price Delhi. The vehicle will be competing with the existing vehicle Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.

The Enjoy is available in petrol as well as diesel versions, where the petrol one is powered by a 1.4-litre engine and the price ranges from Rs. 5.49 and Rs. 6.99 lakh. The diesel version has a 1.3-litre engine which is tagged between Rs. 6.69 lakh and Rs. 7.99 lakh. The vehicle will also be available in 7-seater and 8-seater options.

Lowell Padock, the president and MD of General Motors said, “The Enjoy will compete in one of the fastest growing segments in India. We expect that this model will be a success considering its attributes and pricing”. Paddock added that the vehicle has been re-designed and re-engineered in order to meet the needs of Indian consumers.

The new Enjoy is built on the platform from the General Motors’ Chinese partner SAIC and it has a localization level of 60 percent. However, he added that the company has no intentions to export the Enjoy and wishes to concentrate on the Indian market only.
