After a lot of struggle and attempts to be relieved, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has finally surrendered at the TADA court in Mumbai. From there, the actor will be taken to Arthur Road jail and will be later moved to Yerwada Jail, where he will have to serve the remaining 42 months of imprisonment in the illegal arms case.
On March 21, 2013, the Supreme Court delivered its final verdict regarding the actor’s involvement in the case of bomb blasts that had ripped the city of Mumbai in 1993. Dutt was sentenced to six years of jail in 2007, but the sentence has been reduced to five years.
The star was seen walking out of his residence while he holding his wife Manyata’s hand. Sanjay was also accompanied by filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt. There was plenty of chaos outside the TADA court when the Bollywood star arrived to surrender. The premises was filled with people and cameramen and it took about 20 minutes for Dutt to walk out of his car into the court.
The actor was also accompanied by his family and friends including Priya Dutt. Reports say that Dutt will not receive any special treatment at the Yerwada Jail in Pune. The actor was lodged at the same jail for a short period of time back in 2007.
