Mobile manufacturer ZTE Telecom is looking forward to its foray into the Indian market. The company will be introducing its smartphones and tablet computers for the Indian market. ZTE will be launching five different models, ranging from Rs. 5,799 to Rs. 14,999.
After the launch, the company will be introducing tablet PCs to consumers in India. Products of the company will be available in all major states by the end of October 2013. Xu Dejun, ZTE India chief executive said, “Globally, ZTE is the fourth largest handset manufacturer and we are certain to strengthen our position in India, which is a key growth propeller for us, contributing to 10 per cent of our overall revenues.”
Apart from the upcoming launches in India, ZTE will also partner up with Pune-based Calyx Telecommunications, where it will sell the products. Gaurav Somani, executive director of Calyx Telecommunications said, “We are broadening our distribution network with ZTE’s smartphone and tablet portfolio initially focusing on five states — Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. We are targeting 60 cities and towns through over 7,000 touch points”.
Somani added that ZTE is the fourth largest handset manufacturer and the company is positive about strengthening its position in the country.
