Online shopping giant Amazon.com is looking to expand the distribution of its tablets with new Kindle Fire HD. The company announced that the new Kindle Fire HD and Kindle Fire HD 8.9 are now available for pre-orders in more than 170 countries and its Appstore is open in 200 countries.

Kindle Fire HD has become the best-selling item for Amazon since its launch and the company is now hoping for the same success across the globe. The new devices by Amazon are available on its official website, with prices ranging from US$214 and $284, respectively and the shipping will start on June 13, 2013. The bigger Kindle Fire HD has a 8.9-inch display with a 1920 X 1200 pixel resolution and the smaller, 7-inch model has 1280 X 800 pixels.

Both models come with either 16 GB or 32 GB of storage. The online shopping giant is all about its content ecosystem, due to which the availability of the tablets is closely linked with the Appstore becoming available in more countries as well.

Peter King, director of tablet strategies said, “That was the stumbling block, the negotiations for opening those stores, but once that’s in place it is very logical to supply the hardware”. Other than this, the company also announced the global Appstore expansion in April 2013.
