Good news ahead for all Ford enthusiasts, as the new Ford EcoSport compact SUV is all set to be launched in June 2013. Ford India is yet to make a public announcement about this, but a mass email has been sent to all who have subscribed for a newsletter about EcoSport updates.
The new compact SUV will be offered in three engine options and four trim levels, which will be a 1.5-litre petrol, a 1.5-litre diesel and the much-talked-about 1-litre EcoBoost petrol. The 1.5-litre petrol engine will be offered by the company with a 6-speed automatic option and will be sold in high-end trims.
The four versions of the vehicle will be known as Ambiente, Titanium, Trend and Titanium Plus. The new EcoSport features top-of-the-line Titanium Plus trim with curtain bags, push-button start, keyless entry and leather upholstery, apart from the usual set of creature comforts.
The company will be making a global launch and cars will be assembled in Russia, at the Ford Sollers plant in Tatarstan. Russia is also planning to have a new engine plant with an investment of $274 million.
