AsiaBizz: Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. Launches New Alto, Speeds Up Expansion Plans
Maruti Suzuki India Ltd has launched a new hatchback model in India, the new revamped Alto, which comes with a new engine in it. It’s a 998 cc engine car, which comes with a new face lift and some good modifications in the interior. The company has said that the new Alto will be providing a mileage of 20 kmpl.
On the other hand, Maruti is working on its expansion plan in India, and is also looking forward to increase production and sales in the Indian car market. As for this day, Maruti Suzuki by no doubt, is the largest selling car company in India. Suzuki Japan has announced that they will be pumping investments in to the Manesar, Haryana factory, to increase their production by 250000 units a year by 2012.
In addition to this, Suzuki Japan is going to invest $368 Million into the Indian market, in order to increase India’s production by 1.25 million units. Maruti has already done face lifts on the Zen, Wagon-R and the A-Star models this year.
