US-based online retailing giant Amazon, which recently entered the Indian market, said that it will be launching its Kindle range of products in the country. The Kindle products, which will soon be introduced, include Fire and Paperwhite and should be launched by the end of June 2013.
Regarding this, Amazon issued a statement which read, “World’s best-selling e-readers Kindle Fire and Kindle Paperwhite are coming to Amazon.in, making it easier than ever for readers in India to discover Kindle.” Customers in India will be able to purchase the Kindle Fire HD 7-inch and 8.9-inch models staring from June 27, 2013 at Amazon.in.
Along with this, customers will also have the access to more than 1.9 million apps and games and more than 3.25 lakh books, which are exclusive to the Kindle Store. The 7-inch version of the tablet will be available for Rs. 15,999 and the 8.9-inch variant will be available for Rs. 21,999. The Kindle Fire range will also be available at more than 100 retail outlets, including Croma, E-Zone, Reliance Digital and Vijay Sales.
Dave Limp, Amazon Kindle Vice President said that apart from the advanced hardware, the tablet also offers a wide range of services. It provides a combination of apps, great email service and the largest book collection.
