Asia Bizz: Mark Hurd, Controversial CEO Of HP Resigns After Sexual Harassment Scandal
Mark Hurd, the controversial CEO of HP, has decided to resign from his post following an accusation of sexual harassment. He had joined HP as a CEO in 2005, during the period when there was another scandal taking place in HP. A year later he became the Chairman of the company.
During the time when Hurd was the CEO of HP, the company’s financial outlook just shot up, and from the years 2006 to 2009 the company earned a revenue profit between $91.6 Billion to $114.6 Billion. Even during the time of the 2009 financial crisis, Hurd kept his company financially very sound.
About his sexual harassment charges, Businessweek reports that there is little information available.  HP has stated that there is an investigation going on, to find out whether the company’s sexual harassment charges have been violated or not. At the end Hurd stated, that he might have not lived up to the standards, principles of trust and integrity that he has put on HP during his career.
