Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia has started taking pre-orders for its Asha 501 phone. The phone has been listed on Nokia India’s online store at Rs. 5,199. The company has not yet mentioned the exact date when the latest device will be available, but it did announce that the device will come in Black, White, Cyan, Yellow and Red color options.

The phone was unveiled by the company back in May 2013, as the first device which will be running on the new Asha platform that Nokia has designed in order to make the user experience quicker and more responsive. The Asha 501 has a 3.0-inch capacitive touchscreen experience with 240 x 320 pixels display with only one ‘back’ button and it weighs just 91 grams.

The smartphone has a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and the company said that it will be offering a single-SIM and a dual-SIM variant of Asha 501. For the time being, the device that has been currently listed on the India store is the dual-SIM variant and it has the easy swap feature of Nokia. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with no 3G and GPS.

The device also comes with a 64 MB of internal storage which can be expanded by another 32 GB.
