Unilever’s global brand Lux is well-known as the best-selling soap brand, which started off as a feminine skin and beauty soap brand in 1925. In the past, the company has always roped in the best Bollywood celebrities for its brand endorsements and this time it is the same, as Lux roped in the ‘Raanjhanna’ stars Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush to endorse the brand.

In the earlier days, the company has roped in celebrities like Hema Malini, Kareena Kapoor and Madhubala to endorse its products. Sudhir Sitapati, general manager of skin cleansing at Hindustan Unilever, said, “We always tried to be a little ahead of the game, and along with roping in established stars, we also try to rope in tomorrow’s stars. Sonam is a great style icon and Dhanush is an authentic romantic hero”.

Sitapati went on to say that he first noticed a unique chemistry between the unconventional pair two weeks ago when he was watching the promo for their new movie. The famous duo already stirred up the box office and the question just remains if the couple will be able to do the same for the respectable  brand.

Sonam already endorses brands like L’Oreal Paris and Electrolux, while the Tamil star is also associated with Tata Nano and Marico’s Parachute. The celebrity quotient of Lux has remained intact since 1929, when Leela Chitnis promised smooth skin thanks to Lux.
