Like other telecom companies such as Airtel and Idea Cellular before it, Vodafone India has also announced its new roaming pack. The new roaming pack will allow users to answer calls while in roaming in different states, free of charge. Just like Airtel, Vodafone has also introduced a Rs. 5 pack for receiving free calls for the entire day.
For now, the special tariff voucher is available only for pre-paid users and is applicable for just 24 hours. When using the daily plan on national roaming, customers can make outgoing calls for 1.5 paisa per second. Customers can activate the plan by dialing *444*500# and the service will be available to use.
Moreover, the network has also introduced another plan for pre-paid users, which requires them to shell out at least Rs. 71. The roaming pack will offer free incoming calls for the entire month. For post-paid subscribers, the company has introduced monthly schemes with prices starting at Rs. 75 to be able to receive calls when they are not in their home states, without spending a single penny.
The Roaming Tariff Plan of the network operator has started at Rs. 196 for pre-paid connections and at Rs. 149 for post-paid numbers, which have also gone live. TRAI has revealed that it was not possible to completely do away with incoming call charges while roaming.
