Telecom giant Vodafone is offering its subscribers free roaming minutes across India. The latest offer mentions that subscribers will get three free minutes of calling after ten minutes of calling, which includes incoming, as well as outgoing calls. Unlike other operators, the offer is not available through any special recharge.

The new offer will be available for selected users only, who will get a message from the company informing them about it. The offer will be available from August 1, 2013 and interested customers will be able to know more about the status and availability of the offer for their Vodafone number through the customer care number 111.

However, the strange part is that the company has announced this scheme for a limited time only and for selected customers as well. There is also a possibility that the company might be planning to introduce the offer in the future and that this is just a test run for it. Otherwise, users will be charged at regular roaming rates of Rs. 1 per minute for local calls and Rs. 1.5 per minute for STD calls under the offer.

Incoming calls will be charged at standard 75 paise per minute. The latest scheme will not have any changes regarding the SMS tariffs and will continue to charge Rs. 1 per outgoing SMS.
