US-based computer chip manufacturer Intel has launched two Android-based tablets – known as Intel Education Tablet 7-inch and 10-inch – which target the education sector in India. The company says that both tablets are powered by the Atom processor of Intel.

The 7-inch Intel Education Tablet has a LCD display, with a resolution of 1024×600 pixels. The device is powered by a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom Z2420 processor with 1 GB of RAM. This model will also include internal storage of 8 GB. The company also claims that the Education Tablet 7-inch can provide 8 hours of battery life.

Features of the device include USB port, an audio in/out combo, a microSD slot, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, integrated speakers and a microphone. The tablet also has a 2-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Meanwhile, the 10-inch version of the tablet has a LCD display, 1280×800 pixels and is powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage.

Intel says that it can deliver 6.5 hours of battery life with connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB port. Regarding the latest tablets, the company said that they have been designed specifically for education, as well as to meet the needs of students.
