Highly-popular instant messaging application WhatsApp has launched a new feature, which will allow its users to send voice texts. WhatsApp users will now be able to send voice texts by simply pressing one button.
The app company announced the availability of this new feature on August 7, 2013 and also shared that it has reached 300 million monthly active users mark. The application garnered an astonishing 50 million new active users in just two months. With the help of the new feature, users can record and send voice clips by simply pressing the mic icon.
A report revealed that WhatsApp users now send 11 billion messages and receive 20 billion messages per day, which is up from 27 billion total in June 2013. The company has began rolling out the feature for all of its apps, on iPhone, Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry. The interesting part is that the new feature is super simple to use, with less taps on the screen.
Users have to press the record button in order to record their message and let go of the mic icon to send the message. The best part is that there is no time length limit to record the message, so users can be as creative as they want.
