Official sources revealed that the 70-year-old terrorist is an expert bomb maker of the terror militant group Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT). He is expected to be produced before a court by the Delhi Police on August 17, 2013. The security agencies said that Tunda is a major catch and added that there are expectations that he would reveal some of the operations of Lashkar-e-Toiba in India.

The details surrounding his arrest are not clear, but reports have said that Tunda was deported from one of the Gulf countries and his arrest was effected at the Indo-Nepal border. The terrorist is a resident of Ghaziabad district in Uttar Pradesh and one of the 20 terrorists whose extradition India had demanded from Pakistan after the 2001 attack on Parliament House.

Karim has been charged by the CBI with organizing LeT’s major terror attacks outside of Jammu and Kashmir and about 43 bombings in Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Rohtak and Jalandhar, which killed 20 people and injured more than 400.
