Indian telecom giant Bharti Airtel has launched its Airtel Re. 1 Entertainment store for subscribers across the Indian market. The new strategy has been adopted by the company in order to get its subscribers hooked on to the Internet.
So far, it looks like the Re. 1 videos of Airtel have managed to entertain the audience and this seems to have prompted the carrier to launch a store which sells content for just a rupee. The entertainment store can be visited by Airtel pre-paid and post-paid customers and they can buy plenty of digital content from their mobile devices.
The content from the entertainment store includes music, videos, games pictures and more. Subscribers just have to dial 56789 in order to purchase digital data and then select whatever they wish to purchase. The good part is that the Re. 1 digital content is not just limited to smartphone users, but can be accessed via absolutely any device.
Airtel has revealed that as many as 5,500 gadgets have been listed as compatible with the latest service. The telecom giant is also scheduled to introduce some internet browsing offers which will begin at as low as Re. 1. Such schemes are likely to encourage more and more people to adopt mobile internet.
