Electronics manufacturing giant LG Electronics Inc. said on September 3, 2013 that it plans to release its flagship smartphone the LG G2 in the US, as well as the German market. The company is gearing up to launch its smartphone in order to make its presence stronger in the global market, in terms of high-end smartphones.
The latest smartphone from LG will be locking horns with its other competitors in the world market, like Samsung Electronics and Apple Inc. The new LG G2 has become the first phone to be rolled out by the company after it launched its Optimus brand. The new device has a 5.2-inch screen and has a quad-core Snapdragon 800 CPU, 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system, 13-megapixel rear camera with 2.1-megapixel front camera and 2 gigabytes of RAM.
The unique part of the upcoming device is that it has all its buttons on the rear and will be the first smartphone which will not have any side buttons. Additional feature of the LG G2 includes ‘KnockOn’, which allows users to turn on their smartphones by tapping its display twice.
Moreover, the smartphone automatically picks up a call when the phone is raised to a user’s ear. The device can also protect the privacy of the owner by displaying just the pre-selected apps when guests access the phone.
