Search engine giant Google is preparing to release its brand new second generation Nexus 7 tablet in India in November 2013. The company will be launching its latest tablet in the country three months after the worldwide debut.
Sources familiar with the progress said that the tech giant is most likely going to release the tablet on its own, rather than via Asus, its partner in Taiwan. At the moment, the search engine is testing the tablet with Indian applications, as well as customized content. Asus manufactures the Nexus 7 tablet for Google and probably will not have anything to do with its sales in India.
Initially, the new device will be sold by the retail arm of Google through AndroidLand store in Noida and Bengaluru. The two AndroidLand stores are run together by Google and the smartphone maker Spice. Meanwhile, the search engine giant has already confirmed on its official webpage that it will soon be launching the Nexus 7 for the Indian market.
Moreover, Apple’s new iPhone 5S and 5C are all set to be launched in India on November 1, 2013. Until the new Nexus 7 arrives, online retailers have already started selling the current Nexus 7 version with huge discounts. One of the retailers is selling the 16 GB version for Rs. 9,999, compared to the official price of Rs. 15,999.
