Indian smartphone manufacturer Micromax has revealed its first full-HD display smartphone – named Canvas Turbo – for the Indian market. The new smartphone from Micromax will be available in all retail outlets from October 26, 2013 and will be priced at Rs. 19,990.
The latest smartphone will be available in blue and white colors and has a 5-inch full-HD IPS display with 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Media Tek 6589T processor with 2 GB of RAM. The new Canvas Turbo runs on Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and comes with FOTA support.
The Micromax device has 16 GB of inbuilt storage, however, no information has been given when it comes to expandable storage. The Turbo has a 13-megapixel rear autofocus camera with 5-megapixel front-facing camera. In a press note, the company mentioned that the camera of the Canvas Turbo has features like Panorama, Cinemagraph and Object Eraser.
During the launch of the device, Rahul Sharma, the co-founder of Micromax said, “At Micromax, our focus has always been to keep innovating to democratize technology for masses by offering seamless experience through a combination of great hardware and enhanced software capabilities.” Sharma went on to say that the new device strengthens the company's promise to empower users with superior technology.
