Government has declared the 56th National Awards for the year 2008. This time Priyanka Chopra got the National Award for her role in Madhur Bhandarkar’s movie “Fashion”. This is her first National Award. Upendra Limaye as Best Actor for his performance in Marathi film, Jogwa. The Best Film award went to Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s Antaheen (Bengali).
Arjun Rampal (Rock On!!) and Kangna Ranaut (Fashion) were adjudged Best Supporting Actor and Actress.
The award for the Best Hindi Film went to Abhishek Kapoor’s Rock On!! and Abhay Deol starrer Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye won the Popular Film Award while Neeraj Pandey’s A Wednesday was named Best Debut Film of 2008.
