Indian mobile and IT company Intex has confirmed the launch of its Aqua Octa smartphones for the Indian market. This is the first time that the Indian market will have a smartphone which runs on an octa core processor.
In 2013, the company announced that it will be teaming up with MediaTek in order to manufacture an octa-core phone. The new Intex Aqua Octa is available in an exclusive deal on the online shopping site Snapdeal for Rs. 19,999.
The latest device is a six-inch Android Jelly Bean phone and is just 7 mm thick. The company states that it is the slimmest smartphone in the country and is powered by MT6592 ‘True Octa’ core chipset clocked at 1.7GHz with 2 GB of RAM. The specialty of the device is that the multiple cores can be allocated for various tasks and should improve battery life considerably.
The Aqua Octa is a dual-SIM phone with a 720 X 1280p display and a 2300 mAh battery, which has the capacity to deliver six hours of talk time and 180 hours of standby time. The device also comes with an elaborate memory backup with 16 GB memory. Intex is slowly covering the market by introducing innovative devices in the highly-competitive segment.
