Asia Bizz: Microsoft Co-founder Paul Allen Sues Google, YouTube, Apple And Everyone For Using Infringed Patents
Paul Allen seems to be the most angry man in the tech world, as he has sued all the web giants which include, Apple, Google, YouTube, FaceBook and many more, for infringing patents that were filed more than a decade ago by him. Paul Allen was the man who co-founded Microsoft along with Bill Gates in 1975 but later withdrew from the company in 1983.
As per Paul Allen, 11 web and technology companies have violated the patents that had been developed in Internal Research back in 1992. Internal Research, was a Silicon Valley research Lab and was funded by Allen. Later these Patents were transferred to Interval Licensing, a company owned by Allen.
He says that the two patents that have been violated are – 6,263,507 : “Browser for Use in Navigating a Body of Information, With Particular Application to Browsing Information Represented By Audiovisual Data”, and patent 6,757,682: “Alerting Users to Items of Current Interest”. Allen states that Facebook has violated that patent rights of (507) patent and rest all the 11 companies have infringed the patent (682).
