Popular application WeChat revealed two new updates – the release of WeChat games and version 5.1 – on January 16, 2014 in New Delhi. In addition to that, the event also announced the release of AskMe Official Account on WeChat. The messenger is a free application which runs on Android, BlackBerry, iOS, Symbian and Windows Phone operating systems.
WeChat has become the second most downloaded mobile social app on iOS in numerous markets and has over 100 million registered accounts all over the world. WeChat Games on the app’s latest version will offer an all-in-one app experience to users. The company has launched 4 games for now: 2Day’s Match, GunZ Dash, Craz3 Match & Pencil Pilot.
These games can be found on WeChat and users can download them on their smartphones separately from the respective platform App stores. Users of WeChat can play games, share scores, post achievements, as well as invite their friends to join in on the excitement. The messenger has provided action, adventure and puzzle games to gaming enthusiasts.
During the event, the company announced its partnership with AskMe with the launch of Official Account – AskMe Search – on WeChat. AskMe will provide information on trending restaurants and deals of the day. It will feature mobile, vehicle, property and jobs. For the first time ever, SME/Merchants will also be able to reach out to their audience on WeChat.
