Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and Japan-based two-wheeler manufacturer Suzuki Motorcycle premiered two brand new products on January 27, 2014, which include a scooter and a motorcycle. The company said that it will launch two more motorcycles ?in 2014, in order to increase its market share in the second largest two-wheeler market in the world.
At the moment, the company has a 16 percent share in the domestic market and just one percent in the motorcycle segment. Suzuki has also decided to rope in actress Parineeti Chopra as the brand ambassador for the new scooter model Let ?S?. Salman has been collaborating with the famous brand for two years already and has revealed the new motorcycle Gixxer.
Atul Gupta, the executive vice president of Suzuki Motorcycle India (SMIL)?said, “We are rolling out four new products this calender year, including the two unveiled today. The new scooter model will be rolled out next month and the motorcycle will hit the road by July”. SMIL is the wholly-owned subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation from Japan. Despite the big reveal, prices of the new models have not been announced yet.
Gupta revealed that prices of the two models will be announced during the upcoming auto expo in Greater Noida and will surely be very competitive. The new scooter is powered by 110 cc engine for the personal segment and the 155 cc bike is from the premium luxury segment.
