South Korean giant Samsung has hinted at the launch of its new Galaxy S5 in February 2014. Invitations have been sent out by the company for an ‘Unpacked’ event, as the pressure increases on the top end of smartphone business.
There are possibilities that the company might unveil the latest version of its flagship smartphone Galaxy S in February 2014. However, it is not expected that the bigger screen size of the device will help the company to increase its sales amidst tough competition on the market.
The mysterious event is known as ‘Samsung unPacked 5’ and the invitations for it were sent out on February 4, 2014. The upcoming event is scheduled to take place on February 24, 2014 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Analysts say that the launch event news came three weeks after the sales of the Samsung S4 became weaker than expected. The new S5 smartphone is expected to have a bigger screen – at 5.25 inch – than its earlier model S4. The new device will come in two versions, one in metal and another in plastic casing.
There are also rumors that the device will sport an improved rear camera with 16-megapixels, compared to the 13-megapixels of the S4 device. The new S5 might even have an iris recognition or a fingerprint scanner.
