Handset manufacturing giant Nokia said that it will introduce two new devices – the X+ and the XL – in India in the upcoming two months. The company’s latest announcement clearly meant that the phones are set to be launched in the country in May 2014.
The Finnish company previously said that the Nokia X+ is expected to be priced around Euro 99, which is Rs. 8,400. Meanwhile, the Nokia XL will be a bit pricier and will cost Euro 109, or Rs. 9,200, while the Nokia X will be priced at Euro 89, or Rs. 7,500
The Managing Director of Nokia India, P Balaji said, “India is one of the fastest growing markets for smart phones in the world. With the launch of Nokia X, we are adding more ammunition to our smartphone portfolio. We believe Nokia X is a unique combination of Nokia quality and experiences, Microsoft services and Android apps”.
The company launched its most-awaited Android-based smartphone X for the Indian market on March 10, 2014 and the device has been priced at Rs. 8,599. The new handset has been launched in order to maintain its position in the competitive market. The company also announced the Nokia X lineup, which consists of affordable smartphones. They run Google’s Android apps and the devices have been revealed at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2014.
