Asia Bizz: Toshiba Recalls 41,000 Notebook Computers From World Wide Market
Japanese computer company, Toshiba has recalled some 41,000 notebook computers from all over the world. The recall has been done because of a technical problem of over heating in the machines and may even cause burns to the users. The recalled models include, Satellite T135, T135D, and Satellite Pro130.
The company has advised the users to download a software program called the BIOS, which after installation will detect whether the notebook is overheating, and if it is then it will disable the notebook’s external power. In addition to this it will also tell the user to contact Toshiba about the problem. The software is available on the following website – http://laptops.toshiba.com/about/consumer-notices.
There are already some 129 cases being reported of overheating and plastic cases melting and deforming around the AC adapter plug. The recall became necessary as it is a precautionary measure to keep the customers safe from being involved in any incident with the notebook. Repairs and servicing of the Laptop will be done free by Toshiba.
