Indian tablet manufacturing giant Micromax has released its highly anticipated Canvas Doodle 3 phablet for the Indian market. The new device by Micromax has been priced at Rs. 8,500 and will be available at retail outlets starting from April 25, 2014.
The specifications of the device are not so impressive, but the company is launching the latest phablet in order to offer users a large screen experience for an affordable price. The device’s predecessor, Doodle 2 featured a 5.7-inch display, while Doodle 3 sports a slightly larger 6-inch FWVGA display. The company’s new phablet runs on the older version of the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core processor with a 512 MB of RAM.
The phablet is powered with a 2500 mAh battery which can deliver up to 9 hours of talk time. In addition to that, the Canvas Doodle 3 has a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The connectivity options of the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, but no information has been provided when it comes to 3G connectivity. The phone storage can be expanded up to 32 GB through microSD slots.
The application M!Doodle allows users to animate, chat, scribble smileys and write text over the clicked pictures. The device also comes with an active sensor magnetic flip cover which helps in protecting the screen from dust and scratches.
