Indian mobile phone manufacturing company Intex has launched its first touch and type smartphone, the Aqua Qwerty at Rs. 4,990 for the Indian market. The new smartphone by Intex has 3G connectivity.

The device features, a 3.5 inch HVGA display with a QWERTY keypad , dual SIM device and supports regular SIM size. The new Intex Aqua QWERTY smartphone runs on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.2 Ghz Dual core processor with 512 MB RAM with 5 mega pixel rear camera with 0.3 megapixel front facing camera.

The device also has 4 GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded through a micro SD card up to 32 GB. Connectivity features of the smartphone include Bluetooth, Wi Fi, GPRS, EDGE, 3G and micro USB. The Aqua smartphone is powered by a 1500 mAh battery.

On the other hand BlackBerry has recently launched two touch a type smartphones the Q10 and Q5 for the Indian market. When compared to the Aqua QWERTY the Q10 and the Q5 are expensive. The business head of Mobile Intex, Sanjay KumarKalirona while commenting at the launch said that the device is one such product which offers convenience of touch as well as type for the users who love QWERTY.
