Samsung to further its market presence in India by launching its Galaxy 5S 4G version.

South Korean electronics giant Samsung has launched its 4 G compatible smartphone for the Indian market. Earlier, LG had launched its 4G variant G2 in India and now Galaxy S5 with LTE will have support of Indian bands.

The device comes with a hefty price tag of Rs. 53,500 and falls within the price range of the iPhone 5S. The new 4G powered S5 will go 0n sale in India from July 20, 2014.

Asim Warsi, the Vice President of Marketing and Mobile at Samsung India said, “We expect the 4G version to catch the imagination of technology enthusiasts and professionals, who demand superior smartphones for their heavy multimedia content consumption”.

The Galaxy 5S 3G was launched in the country in April, 2014 and is currently counted as one of the best handsets that one could buy. The other smartphones which compete with the handset in the market include – the Sony Xperia Z2 and the HTC One M8. Samsung wants the Galaxy S5 to remain in the limelight and the launch of this new 4G version is set to serve the exact same purpose.

Samsung has joined hands with Airtel to provide data plans for the buyers of the new model. The already existing Airtel 4G subscribers will get a 5GB 4G data per month for two months.
