In a bid to improve customer service Amazon to open 5 more delivery centers in India.

Online retail giant Amazon is all set to open 5 new centers across in India. The move will be taken by the retail giant so as to ensure faster product delivery in the competitive online shopping space which is currently dominated by other giants like Flipkart and Snapdeal.

For now, the US-based firm has two fulfillment centers in Mumbai and Bangalore. After the company adds five centers, the total capacity of Amazon will double and more than half a million sq feet.

Amazon in a statement said, “As part of its ongoing commitment to continually enhance services to customers and sellers, Amazon Seller Services India on Monday announced its plans to open five more FCs in Delhi, Chennai, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Tauru (outskirts of Gurgaon).”

The centers will meet the needs of retailers, small and medium sized businesses in Haryana, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan and the customers will benefit from faster shopping delivery and greater availability.

Meanwhile, the fulfillment center in Chennai is already operational and the remaining four FCs will be operational in the upcoming month.

More and more companies into the e-Commerce market are focussing on an infrastructural overhaul so as to improve logistics and delivery time which will eventually woo more customers.
