With the launch of the new Punto Evo, Fiat India to improve product portfolio by end of 2014.
In a bid to take advantage of the competitive auto market in India, carmaker Fiat will be launching three products before 2014. Nagesh Basavanhalli, the President and Managing Director of Fiat Group Automobiles was present at the launch of its new compact car Punto Evo on August 8, 2014.
The Managing Director said, “We are now strengthening our product portfolio in India with cars that are designed and engineered keeping Indian conditions and requirements in mind.”
The petrol version of the Punto Evo will cost Rs 4.65 lakh-Rs 6.78 lakh, the diesel variants will range between Rs 5.37 lakh and Rs 7.33 lakh (ex-showroom Bangalore).
Fiat officials also revealed that the next product the company will roll out will be the – Avventura. The upcoming Avventura will be placed in the segment which includes other competitors like the Ford Ecosport and Renault’s Duster.
Other source from the company said that the Avventura’s global launch will be held in India and the vehicle has been specifically designed for the urban youth and for the ones who need to be “on the go”.
The SUV Avventura was also showcased at the Auto Expo in February 2014.
Fiat is planning to boost sales by expanding the chain of its dealership stores from the current number of 116 outlets to 150 by the end of 2014.
