At an affordable price of Rs. 7,349, Microsoft launches Lumia 530 in India.
The official launch of Microsoft’s new Lumia 530 Dual Sim in India is today, August 19, 2014. The company claims it to be the most affordable Lumia brand in India till now which comes at a best buy price of Rs. 7,349.
Microsoft will not compromise on features owing to the low price and the phone will come equipped with all the latest Microsoft and Lumia innovations. Talking about the phone, TS Sridhar, Director-South Nokia India said, “The new Lumia 530 will provide a powerful entry to Windows Phone 8.1 with a Quad Core processor, delivering faster and smoother user experience.”
This is the first time that a Lumia smartphone has been launched at a budget price and this will allow more people to own the smartphone. Lumia has previously been a brand that has focussed on the high-end smartphone market, but with increasing competition from companies like Apple and Samsung, Microsoft has decided to tap the lower end of the market.
Giving more details about the phone, Sridhar said, “It includes the latest version of Windows Phone 8.1, including one swipe notifications from Action Center and the fast Word Flow keyboard, adding, seamless integration with Microsoft services such as Skype and Microsoft Office, available right out of the box.”
The Nokia Lumia brand is now owned by Microsoft Mobile, after the US-based tech giant acquired Nokia’s mobile device business in April 2014.
