Samsung launches Galaxy S5 Mini in India for Rs. 26,499.
South Korean manufacturer Samsung has launched the Galaxy S5 Mini in India exclusively through Indian e-commerce website Flipkart. The device will retail for Rs. 26,499. The smartphone was launched on Wednesday, September 10, 2014. Like the Galaxy S5, the mini-version will be available in 4 different colors – Shimmery White, Electric Blue, Copper Gold and Charcoal Black. The Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini Duos is branded as Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini in India.
Talking about the launch, Asim Warsi, V.P of Marketing, Mobile and IT at Samsung India said, “The Galaxy S5 Mini is yet another manifestation of the philosophy of people inspired innovation that drives Samsung products. This stylish smartphone is the perfect combination of performance and power in a conveniently compact design.”
Earlier this year in July, Samsung had launched a single-SIM variant of the S5 Mini which had all the specifications of the larger variant except for support for 2 SIMs.
The online megastore Flipkart also put up an offer that let 25 lucky customers get 100 percent cash back, Sennheiser HD180 headphones worth Rs. 999 and pre-selected e-books worth Rs. 2,000.

The S5 Mini has an Ultra Power Saving Mode which runs only the essential phone applications like texting, phone calls and internet. Along with this, it also switches to a black and white display to save battery usage. Among the sensors, it has an accelerometer, gyro, IR blaster, ambient light sensor and a digital compass.
