Mahindra & Mahindra launches next generation Scorpio S2 in India.

Indian auto manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) launched its next gen Scorpio S2 on September 25, 2014. The new Scorpio is reported to have been given built on an all-new platform, with more aggressive styling and advanced features.

The S2 variant of Scorpio is priced at Rs 7.98 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai) and will be available in in 7, 8 and 9-seater options. The car will also come in five colors — diamond white, fiery black, mist silver, new molten red and new regal blue. In all, Scorpio will be available in seven variants (S2, S4, S4+, S6, S6+, S8 and S10).

The new Scorpio comes loaded with a 2.2-litre mHawk engine, along with a new gearbox. Available in a 4×4 option as well, the Scorpio’s advanced features include an infotainment system enabled with a six inch screen, smart rain and light sensors, reverse assist and voice assist system. As a safety feature, the car boasts of dual front airbags and anti-lock braking system, speed alert warning, among others.

The company has reportedly brought about only mild upgrades over the years, this seems to be the biggest makeover the car has received so far.
