The Toggle and Disney deal will result in an array of entertainment for Singaporean viewers.
A multi-year agreement has been signed between Toggle and Disney (Southeast Asia) for subscription video on demand (SVOD) to revamp the current entertainment content for viewers in Singapore. Toggle is commercial media group MediaCorp’s flagship internet video service.
Toggle currently provides services beyond television, where it brings forth news, entertainment, learning, information, behind-the-scene insights and interactive content to viewers across multiple devices.
As per the deal, in addition to the selected top US TV series through the launch of ABC Studios On Demand, the SVOD service will also include movies from Disney, Pixar and Marvel (Walt Disney Studios). The branded service will make available a selection of hit network and cable series from ABC Studios, including Revenge, Scandal and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Adding to the list of popular movies will be titles such as Marvel’s Iron Man and classics like Dead Poet’s Society.
Initially, subscribers to Toggle Prime will be able to view the planned premium content at no additional charge, At present the prime service gives access to viewers to over 20, 000 on-demand titles across Toggle TV channels Channel 5, 8, U, Okto, Vasantham and Suria in Singapore.
