A 10-man Kolkata beat NorthEast United 2-0, after Borja Fernandez got a second yellow card in the 82nd minute. The match was held in Guwahati on October 15, 2014. A 15 minute strike by Ethiopian striker Fikru Lemessa put the team ahead, which was followed up by a strike from Jakub Podany in injury time.
However, the sending off of Fernandez had caused some tempers to rise with some heated discussions with the referee, but things cooled down eventually and the game resumed. Kolkata’s coach, Antonio Lopez Habas defended his team and said, “We need to check the videos. Many many such actions take place on the field. We are a professional team.
