Motor giant Ford India has announced a recall and has suspended the sales of its Figo and Aspire over an issue with the restrain control module that might affect the functioning of the airbag.
The sales of the cars have been suspended and the company will now look in to fixing the issues. Ford is planning to recall 40,000 of the units of both the cars that it has already sold. The cars that are recalled will be checked for the suspected issue and will be delivered to the customers as soon as it is fixed.
The customers will be informed by the company on an individual basis and the software issue will be solved free of cost. The inspection time and up-gradation process is expected to take a few hours time. The sales of the vehicles is expected to resume by the end of this week or the next week. Ford is planning to complete the inspection and fixing process of the sold and unsold cars within this week itself.
The Figo as well as the Aspire vehicles get the driver side airbag as standard so the recall will include all units that the company has sold for the new Ford Figo and Figo Aspire.
